When you use transaction commands such as objMyConn.BeginTrans then all that does is tell MTS that you want your code to be treated as a transaction.<BR><BR>Transactions are useful for grouping together code which needs to either succeed or fail (rollback) together. For example, consider two bank accounts called A and B. There are two actions you need if transferring money from A to B. First take the money out of A, second pay it into B. If there is a failure inbetween these actions then the money may get lost, but if these two actions are under MTS then they either both succeed of both fail, in which case any changes made are "rolled back" to the earlier status.
I'm asking the diff B'coz, I got an error which says something like "database is in firehouse mode". I'm using application level connection object. When I use transactions it gives the above message. So I opened a new connection at the page level. Now I'm not getting the error. Can U kindly tell me how to solve that probelm? Or whether I did the right thing?
