I put out a note on the message board little while back but did no completely explain the problem I am having. Has anyone ever attempted to use the BinaryWrite method of the Response object on a text file? For some reason IE5 won't display it, it sends the "You have chosen to download a file from this location..." message box, instead of displaying the text file. PDF files and images work great, but not text files.

Thanks!

I am working with a team on a web app whose architecture is dependant on uploading and viewing various binary objects, like flat files, and pdf files, etc. Originally, we were writing these to a web server, but this is not scalable so we have begun retrofitting to write and read these out of SQL Server using the image type, which is essentially binary. In order to display these text files, I need to write them to the browser for our user base... hope this further explains my question.
