    Default Sorting a Recordset

I am pulling data from DB2 tables on a mainframe to be displayed on our intranet, but I need to re-order the data based on a substring of one of the fields. Is there any way to sort a recordset or do I have to write the recordset out to an Access database with that string as the key and then re-read it to accomplish the task?

How about a simple "ORDER BY <columnname>" in your SELECT statement?

More clarification please... how do you change the ORDER BY from ascending to descending and vice versa?
