    Select count(*) as cnt from table...<BR><BR>rs("cnt")<BR><BR>I have never had consistant success using a dynamic cursor and try to access rs.RecordCount()...

    You skipped some part of your question.<BR><BR>Use adOpenStatic or contstant 3 in your code and try it.<BR>Using Recordcount is the best method.

    SET objRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet")<BR><BR>SQL = "SELECT * FROM WHATEVER"<BR> SQL, objConn, 3<BR><BR>Or you can set the cursor type to dynamic "manually" - adOpenDynamic<BR><BR>You can also different lock types or other otpions if you choose.<BR><BR>Then just go<BR>objRS.RecordCount
