I&#039ve noticed that some (all?) Virtual Basic scripts used in ASP documents do not work outside of MSIE for Windows. In general, when writing client-side scripts, what can be done to improve compatibility with Mac or *nix platforms? Can VB on the client side be replaced with say JavaScript and work with ASP pages? Forgive me if this is very general; I haven&#039t even started to play with ASP, but when I do, I want to make sure my apps are cross-platform.

The best development plan is to use JavaScript client-side and VBScript server-side. Do not use ActiveX Controls ... use Java Applets for client-side controls. Use DTCs whenever possible, because they are simply JavaScript and HTML renderers. Do not use DHTML because of it&#039s browser-specific implementations.
