## Recordset problem... ouch !!

Hi ya...... hope you can help me ! The problem is this : I have a database with deatils of a point system, which has an increment of 100.....100, 200 up to 1700 points. How would i pull out a record in this table where for example the point value used to retrive the record was 110... i wnat to be able to
sort through the recordset and only display the filed for 100.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not following you. What do you want to SELECT from yer database? And what do you want to do with yer recordset once you have it? I need a better example.

## RE: Recordset problem... ouch !!

well i cant hink of a way to only do it in the backend

how about this

a = 110 <- whatever the user enters
b = a Mod 100
a = a - b

...where PointColumnName = a <- a will now have 100

this will work in this way

210 = 200
290 = 200

so it will basically "round" to the lowest 100
## Problem with that...

...based on the post the id or whatever is stored in multiples of 100 so not if i enter 130 will it not round to 150 which is wrong

and 175 to 100 which again MIGHT be wrong for his needs but since he did not give more examples

If I understand your concern, I should point out the FAQ can round to the nearest integer interval, which you specify:

Response.Write RoundTo(110, 100) ' will give 100

But if you mean he has to do a Floor on the number, like 175 turns into 100, the FAQ would have to be re-written, yes.

Richard
