I am allowing user to search a database and then giving them checkboxes for each record that is returned. I am keeping track of which records have been checked with a cookie so that information persists.

The problem is that in any given given search Record A may not meet their search criteria so a checkbox is not displayed on the page. When my script goes through the cookie automatically rechecking previously checked boxes, it gives up on checkbox A (never getting to the rest) because that checkbox does not exist on the page at this point in time. For example in the following code:

document.frmShoppingCart.chkA.checked = "True"
document.frmShoppingCart.chkB.checke d = "True"

the second line is never executed because the object in the first line doesn't exist.

Any ideas how I can say check this box if this object exists, else skip on to checking the next box? Thank you in advance.
