Anybody knows how to change the date format on SQLServer?

I need to insert a date string (mm/dd/yyyy)into a table. The problem is like this. I run an application on two different SQLServers, one of them always changes the date string into (dd/mm/yyyy). For example, if I type in (1/6/2001) on the page, what i got in the database is like (6/1/2001)

Thank you

Whenever I use a date in my database, I always first create the date in ASP. This way, I can use whatever format I like. Then in my db, I just have it be a char field, and name it date or something.

HTH,
Chris
