Default Using Binary Streams

    Hi,
I&#039d like to know if there is a way to open a file using the fileSystemObject (or some other object) to open a file as a binary stream. I can open them as text streams, but I want to be able to open a JPEG (for example) and write the file as a binary stream. This way I could have an ASP return an image without having the image in a web directory. The Response.BinaryWrite method should be able to write the stream, but I am unable to open the file as anything but a textstream.
Any suggestions would be nice.
Thanks,
John

I don&#039t think this is possible using the built in
objects. I recommend using SA-Filemanager (which is free)
to do binary read/writes. You can download it from
http://www.softartisans.com/

hope this helps

    Default Thanks

Thnaks. I&#039ll try that, in the mean time I think I&#039ve worked around it by putting the binary images into a database and I&#039m going to try writing them from there.
Thanks Again,
John

No problem. I&#039ve seen the images in DB work.
