Hello
I wrote a piece of ASP code to use data shape of ADO 2.1. before that I wrote a database connection file:
<%
Set dbConnection = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
dbConnection.Provider = "MSDataShape"
dbConnection.Open "Data Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=DBNAME; Data
Source=servername; database=DBNAME; User=username; Password=password"
%>
then I include it inside my program. but it reports the following error:
Login failed for user &#039IUSR_SERVERNAME&#039.
I think I didn&#039t use trusted login for it. what causes this error? and what is the meaning of parameter "Data Source" in the connection string.

if I write connection string as: dbConnection.Open
"Provider=MSDASQL;Driver={SQL
Server};Server=servername;Database=DBNAME;Uid= username;Pwd=password;" then
error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Syntax error or access violation
will occur when executing my SQL shape string (I am 100% sure that my SQL
string is correct!!)

why???? is there anybody who can help me????

Thanks!
Have you tried using a System DSN? It seems as though there are some issues with your DSN-less connection. For help on correctly creating connection strings, check out:
