Default sql question (i think)

Is it possible to have a query that looks something like this:

SELECT * from theTable
group by number1 order by number2 DESC, number3

...and then, only select the value that comes FIRST in number2? So that when every record with the highest value in field "number2" (there will be many with the same value) have been selected, no more records will be shown?

If you are using SQL Server, you can just do SELECT TOP 1 * from theTable......

Scott
