Default passing variables form server side to client side

    In my server side scripting I made a variable MyString = Blah, Blah, Blah.

If I take this variable and put it into the HTML like this:
<Script langauge = vbscript>
data = <%= MyString %>
</Script>
Should this work?
To see if it works, I am trying to get the variable that is passed to show up in a message box when a button is pushed.
Does all this client side scripting go inside the header tags?

    It&#039s good if u write client side scripting in header tags, but u
can write client side scripting anywhere before u call that script

    If u want ur Server side variables to be accessed in client side.u can follow this example psuedocode.

1. Save the variable <%=Something%> in a Hidden variable ( input tag in HTML)
2. Retrive the variable in the Client side script by acessing the Hidden variabale using the Name and value properties.
