Default Session Objects

    Hi,

Sorry if this question is abit basic but I understood that session objects were automatically created for each new user. So I set a session variable as a record set and I get the following error

Microsoft VBScript runtime error &#039 800a01a8&#039

Object required: &#039Session(...)&#039

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Default session objects -- really bad things

First: DO NOT DO IT! Putting a RecordSet into a Session value is a *bad thing*. MS warns you over and over and over not to do so. Check out and the discussions of performance implications there.

But...

I would *GUESS* that your problem is simply because you omitted the SET keyword, either when you stored the object or tried to retrieve it:

<%
Set Session("foo") = RS
...
Set theRS = Session("foo")
...
%>
