Default Access-question

Hello! In Access, I want to create a query which selects columns with certain names, regardless of in which table/query the column is. I searched this forum and found that you could write:
Select *.name AS anewname, *.age AS anothernewname, (and so on)...

I don&#039t get it to work in Access though. Please help!

This syntax is wrong. You cannot have *.name.

The general syntax for the select query is:

Select {fieldlist} from table(s)

where fieldlist = tablename1.fieldname1, tablename2.fieldname2, ... etc.

You need to study your SQL reference material more thoroughly. If you follow the syntax rules, and you have a basic understanding of sql and relational db concepts, you should not have a problem.
