Default win 2000 read-only (newbie admin)

    _____________________________________________
M icrosoft JET Database Engine error &#039 80040e09&#039
Cannot update. Database or object is read-only
__________________________________________ ___

like so many new asp webmasters upgrading from NT4.0 to win 2000 I am experiencing problems with a read-only database when trying to add or modify records. It was easy on a virtual NT account but I am dedicated now.

Obviously it is a permissions problem but being new to IIS means that the solution needs to be given in nice and easy steps! ;)

The database file and directory appear to have read and write permissions but how and where do I check for the default guest permissions so that the server and DB can behave properly ?

cheers
