I&#039m trying to use the "Getting the Identity Value from SQL" method described on this site at http://4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/100598-1.shtml for getting (and then using) the ID of the last record inserted into a table. It goes like this:
-------------------------
strSQL = "INSERT INTO TableA ..."
Conn.Execute(strSQL)

&#039 Get the indentity value for the row we just inserted.
Dim rsIdentity
Set rsIdentity = Conn.Execute("SELECT @@IDENTITY FROM TableA")
-------------------------
Then I try to use rsIdentity to redirect to a detail page for that new record as follows:
------------
1: redirectPage = "product_detail.asp"
2: redirectPage = redirectPage & "?" & "ID=" & Cstr(newIdentity)
3: Call Response.Redirect(redirectPage)
------------
I get a "Type mismatch" error on line 2. I&#039m pretty new to ASP, so it&#039s probably a newbie mistake.

Thanks,

Mick
