Getting my a.. kicked by a trigger. What I need to do is have the MerchantID value that is inserted into the Merchant column be inserted into the MerchantID column of the SalesMerchant table. This is what I&#039ve tried so far without success:

--------------------------

CREATE TRIGGER updateSalesMerchID ON dbo.Merchant
FOR INSERT,UPDATE AS
Update SalesMerchant set SalesMerchant.MerchantID = Merchant.MerchantID
from Merchant, inserted
where Merchant.MerchantID=Merchant.MerchantID

--------------------------

CREATE TRIGGER updateSalesMerchID ON Merchant
FOR INSERT,UPDATE AS
UPDATE SalesMerchant SET SalesMerchant.MerchantID = Merchant.MerchantID
WHERE MerchantID IN (SELECT MerchantID FROM INSERTED MerchantID)

--------------------------

CREATE TRIGGER updateSalesMerchID ON Merchant
FOR INSERT,UPDATE AS
UPDATE SalesMerchant SET SalesMerchant.MerchantID = MerchantID

--------------------------

CREATE TRIGGER updateSalesMerchID ON Merchant
FOR INSERT,UPDATE AS
UPDATE SalesMerchant SET SalesMerchant.MerchantID = MerchantID
WHERE MerchantID IN (SELECT MerchantID FROM INSERTED MerchantID)

--------------------------

CREATE TRIGGER updateSalesMerchID ON dbo.Merchant
FOR INSERT,UPDATE
AS
UPDATE SalesMerchant set SalesMerchant.MerchantID = MerchantID
FROM INSERTED MerchantID
WHERE MerchantID IN (SELECT MerchantID FROM INSERTED)

--------------------------

Additionally, I need the same MerchantID value inserted into a table called Tracking (Tracking.MerchantID). I know the above is possible; is it possible to have a trigger update 2 tables simultaneously?

Hey, right now I&#039d "settle" for the first code to work! Thanks for the help.
