    Default textarea - set a max length and add to DB

    I have a page with a form which contains a scrolling text box (and another form fields). I need to set a max length for this field because I send it in a data base (Access, data type = text).<BR><BR>If I send more than ?? char (256 I suppouse) I have an error:<BR>________________________________________ _____<BR>Microsoft VBScript runtime error &#039 800a01a8&#039 <BR>Object required: &#039nameConnection&#039 <BR>_____________________________________________< BR><BR>With a short string it works. <BR><BR>I don&#039t find any limitation for this problem. <BR>Can anyone help me?

    Usually text-areas are used when the user is required to enter text whose length we may not want to restrict, since it may vary. If you must restrict the text (if its short) use a text field & define its maxlength attribute. If you&#039re using a text-area, define the field as &#039memo&#039 in the database.<BR>Hema
