Default STORED PROCEDURES ALWAYS BETTER? SQL SERVER

Should I always use stored procedures whenever
I can in SQL Server? For validation, for retrieving
fields, for checking things.. do it in a stored
procedure instead of ASP?

Why is this faster? When do I do stuff in ASP
rather than making it a stored procedure?

Use stored procedures only for insert/delete/update and also for complex selects or results of any kind. Call the stored procedures from a middle-tier dll and do all validation and logic there. Never put logic in the sp.

Michael
