Hi, I&#039m new to ASP and I&#039ve downloaded the Personal Web Browser from Microsoft so that I can use ASP at home. I&#039m having problems when I open my ASP page in my browser nothing happens. All I see is a blank page. Its like the browser isn&#039t reconising the ASP. Can you please help.

Thanks

Kay.

    It it not the browser that recognises ASP, it is the personal web server. All the browser ever receives is HTML, it won&#039t ever know that the page was created using ASP. If you are requesting a page and it is showing a blank page then it seems to me that PWS is serving the page otherwise PWS or the browser would give an error.

Most likely cause of your problem is that you have made a mistake in the ASP page and haven&#039t instructed it to write anything to the screen.

Try viewing the source in the browser, sometimes the error messages get trapped in the source code.

Something else to try -
strip all of the code out of your ASP page and write:
<%@ Language=VBScript %>
<HTML>
<BODY>
Test 1
<%Response.Write "Test 2" %>
</BODY>
</HTML>
You should see Test 1 on the screen produced in HTML, and Test 2 also on the screen being produced by the ASP

    What Ben said is very true. However I have run into a problem today that you might be experiencing too. I just found out that PWS doesn&#039t work under Windows ME. If you have ME than you got further than I did. If not, do the response.write test that Ben mentioned.

In addition, does anyone else know of a way to get asp scripts to run on Windows ME. Should I be looking at another web server?
