Default Application Object

Has anyone out there had any experience with storing usernames in an application variable. I want to to be able to check which users are on the site at any one time and then compare this to a list.

Trivial to do. But use an array stored in an App value, *NOT* a dictionary. Warning: Some have reported problems with Session_onEnd not always getting invoked. So you may want to have a "cleanup" routine that removes users that are way too "old" to be believable.

For help on storing arrays in App values, see the ASPFAQs article on arrays in Session values. Exactly same code works perfectly.
