Default OLEDB Connection Questions

I read the article "OLEDB for ME" and would like to try it.

When I attempt with this code:

<%
Dim Connect, OnMenu %>

<%
Set Connect = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
connect .ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51" %>
<% Data Source = C:ajobspathactual_members.mdb %>
<% Initial Catalog=members %>
<% User ID=freedom %>
<% Password=todo %>

...I get this error message:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error &#039 800a0400&#039
Expected statement
/members_change.asp, line 14
Data Source = C:ajobschamber_commercedatabaseactual_members.mdb< BR>--^

I think that I have duplicated the example in the article. One thing the article states is that you must have ADO 2.0 & > for this to work. How do I determine what ADO I have? I am running this on my computer using Personal Web Server.

I feel like I am making a very fundamental error here (something I have real talent for doing).

Can anybody shed light here?

S&#039cerely,

Phil E.

This will tell which ADO you are running.

set tempconn=server.createobject("adodb.connection")response.write "ado version=<b>"
response.write tempconn.version & "</b>
"
set tempconn=nothing

Note: this was stolen from activeserverpages.com.
http://www.learnasp.com/learn/versioncheck.asp

DRUG_DEALER
