Default Buildin Dynamic HTML.. getting onclick events to w

I have an html page that I post a form on. I submit the form to and ASP page and the ASP page returns the values back into a table(via a string) and in the table I have a button. I declared the button with the onclick=setcode(passedcode). At the top of my HTML page I have a procedure called SETCODE (lpassedcode) defined, but for some reason I cant reach this part. When the page re-displays after it is built with the dynamic HTML, the button is in the table, but when I click on it. I get an error "setcode not defined", but the code is right there at the top of my HTML page. Anyway have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong, why cant it see the procedure I have defined?

It is not the DHTML that is the problem, it is JavaScript. JS is case sensitive. You are calling setcode(), but your function is defined as SETCODE().
