Default Inserting apostrophes into database

    I read in an article I should use the line below when inseting user entered information into a database.

strEmailAddress = Trim(Replace(strEmailAddress, "&#039" , "&#039&#039" ))

This strips out spaces either side of the string and replaces an apostrophe with two apostrohes. This last point is needed so as not to cause an error with the database. However this inserts an addtional apostrohe, which I do not want. Furthermore, I am not using the SQL Insert / Update commands, but just opening a connection to the table and using ADO to update / create records. So do I need to even worry about this?

Dan
