    Is it evil to use session scope variables/objects in ASP. If so why?<BR><BR>Thx,<BR>-Suri<BR><BR>

    1. because they occupy memory for the entire session, and when there are multiple sessions, the memory usage could get dangerously high<BR><BR>2. If the object is apartment threaded, it&#039ll lock down your application to a single thread (i.e. a single operation at a time), which is pretty lame<BR><BR>j

    Default An opposing thought?

    If you search this messageboard, you will find a response Bill Wilkinson gave to someone who asked the same question. It detailed why session variables aren&#039t as bad as people really make them out to be. It is definitely worth a read.
