Default password authentication

    This is an elementary question, I&#039m sure but I do need help. I have a password list that is mixed case alpha with numbers. How do I authenticate the passwords? My SQL statement doesn&#039t discern between upper case and lower case letters. the user enters their certification number and another page pulls their record. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. This doesn&#039t have to be a battleship and it doesn&#039t have to be as secure as Fort Knox, but I would like to know. Thanks.

strCert = trim(Request("cert"))
"SELECT * FROM Participants WHERE (Certificate_Number = &#039" & strCert & "&#039)"

Your SQL statement will return all cases of the password, but then it&#039s up to you to check with the information you sent:

&#039your recordset pulling
Do Until rs.EOF
If trim(strCert) = trim(rs(Certificate_Number)) Then
&#039This is valid
Else
&#039This is invalid
End If
rs.MoveNext
Loop
