    Default Can I use SQL server with unix?

    I have heard with unix operating system, oracle will be best database to be used. Can anyone guide me to use sql server for unix

    Nupur,<BR><BR>Sybase SQL Server is available on unix.<BR><BR>MS SQL Server also has a version that runs on an DEC Alpha AXP, but I don&#039t think they have a version for 7.0.     If you run SQL Server on an NT Box, and use JDBC or ODBC to connect to SQL Server from the Unix box, it should be fine. <BR><BR>Using PHP http://www.php.net under Apache and Unix will give you access to SQL Server databases on an NT box on your network if you use the SyBase functions, as SQL Server is based on SyBase.<BR><BR>http://www.sybase.com<BR>http://www.microsoft.com/sql
