    Default Connectivity to legacy db

    We are trying to connect to a legacy db of a bank(sybase sql anywhere 5.0) thru asp using odbc. <BR>Our odbc connects fine using datalink or thru Visual Basic and gives a &#039Test connection succeded", but when it comes to ASP it gives the following error:<BR><BR>"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error &#039 80004005&#039 <BR>[Sybase][ODBC Driver]: db_init() failed <BR>/connect.asp, line 6 "<BR><BR>Also, We do not have any permissions problem(like they have said in MSDN)<BR>So permissions are out.<BR>Kindly suggest any way for solving the problem.......we are on site....!!!!<BR>so you know the urgency.<BR>thanks in advance.<BR>Mandar<BR><BR>

    This is NOT a very good solution, but as I don&#039t know Sysbase Sql anywhere 5, it&#039s the best I can think of.<BR><BR>Create a new Ms-Access database and link to all the Sql tables you need. You should then be able to create a DSN that points to the Access db and use that in your ASP code.<BR><BR>Good luck<BR><BR>Eddie
