i hope u r trying to display the crystal reports on the web depending upon the user selection criteria. if i'm wrong dont read further<BR><BR>You can web enable the crystal reports when you deploy the crystal report ocx control on all the cliet machines, you can instanciate the crystal reports in server and it allows to manipulate all its properties, you can pass parameters to it and when you try to diusplay the report it will instanciate the crystal report control on the client machine and will show the reprort in the way formated, this works fine for intranet projects and is not advisable for extranet or internet applications
Sateesh,<BR>Do you have any documentation or example code where the user enters in the parameters and crystal generates the report? I also have a question: Why does this work fine for intranet projects and is not advisable for extranet or internet application? If you have sample asp code that does this that would be very helpful. Or just the code to pass the parameters to Crystal 8. If anyone else is working on this sort of project, we can compare notes. Send me an email: email@example.com.
My company has been using Crystal Reports on our Web server for over a year now. One issue we ran into (that has yet to be revisted) is that each report w/ the parameters that the report expects had to be defined in the asp. The default ASP files actually have quite a bit of useful info to start w/.
