all it does is generate an error due to incorrect syntax

Should be something like

myPassword = "asd"
if myPassword <> "asd" then
Do something here
End IF

As Steve has pointed out the syntax is wrong. Pretty much what it does is say If the password is NOT Equal to asd then output an error.

BUT the syntax is:

If YourVariable <> "asd" then
response.write "Wrong password"
response.end
End If

Where:

<> is NOT Equal
response.end will halt the page.

Hope this clears it up.

Dwane Lumley
