I am having a problem with IIS 3 and edit updating.

When I edit a record using ASP on a NT server running IIS 3 I get the
following error:

Error in Update (3219)Invalid operation.

I can add records fine and even delete them but can&#039t change them.

I have access to another server running IIS 4 and the process works fine,
unfortunately my IIS4 server is running on a slow connecting via my office
so cannot run my site from there.

My site is with a hosting company who I have been nagging to change to IIS
4 - they say they will soon but so far I am stuck - any suggestions?

I wondered if it was that the ASP code I am using is IIS4 specific so have
listed it below in case anyone in the know could advise me how I could
change it to run on IIS3?

I am fairly new to ASP - I can&#039t imagine it is a server permission issue? I
can delete so shouldn&#039t I be able to edit?

I&#039ve tried locating information on IIS3 v IIS4 to locate a coding issue but
can&#039t find anything on the net.

Any help would be most apreciated.

Charles

<%< BR>&#039 &#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039 &#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039 &#039&#039&#039
&#039 This is the leading Logic for the Edit screens
&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#03 9&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#03 9&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#039&#03 9&#039
on error resume next
Session(LOCAL_SESS_ID & "MODE") = ""
SQL_RETURN_FIELDS ="*"
SQLString = "SELECT " & SQL_RETURN_FIELDS & " FROM " & SQL_TABLE & " WHERE
((Ref=" & request.form("Ref") & "));"

&#039 LOAD RECORDSET
Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
rs.Open SQLString, conn, 1, 2

for each fld in Request.form
myField = request.form(fld)
if trim(myField)="" then myField = " "
if myField<>Ref and myField<>Enhanced and myField<>Verified then rs(fld) =
myField
next

rs.update
rs.close
if err.number>0 then
ShowSorry "Error in Update (" & cstr(err.number) & ")" & err.description
else
response.redirect(BASENAME & "?mode=EDIT_DONE")
end if
%>

pls cc responses to charles@micromax.co.uk
