i have used response.redirect a number of times in my code & i want to know whether the connection object & the recordset objects will be closed & set to nothing if the user is redirected to a different page
1. Server compiles the "Redirect" call.
2. Server sends HTTP header (I think) 305 to the browser.
3. Browser sees the 305 and the new URL (attached).
4. Browser wanders off to the new URL.

So yes, all objects are closed & nothing-ed -- with the same level of efficiency (sp?) as if you had left them open when the page finished executing.
Any object opened/referenced/initiated has to be closed. This is something that is not a must but is idealy wht you should follow not wonder what happens after you "leave" the page.

It would be a nice practise to set it to nothing or close the object
