Default How to implement a simple delay/wait in ASP ?

    Hi,

Could anyone tell me how I can insert some kind of delay in ASP, which will be used to display a "flash" error message in a form, indicating that the field is blank and can&#039t be.

Or is there any other way to display such a short message and then erase it and redisplay the page?

Thanks for any help...

    Hello! Check out this free component:

http://www.serverobjects.com/products.htm#waitfor

It will allow your ASP page to wait for a specified number of seconds before continuing...

Happy Programming!

    Hows about....

Sub Sleep(tmpSeconds)
Dim dtmOne,dtmTwo
dtmOne = Now()
While DateDiff("s",dtmOne,dtmTwo) < tmpSeconds
dtmTwo = Now()
Wend
End Sub

this has the added advantage of not needing you to install any components or anything.

    It'll hang the server in 100% processor utilisation until the wait has finished, not ideal on a site with more than one user...

    Default LOL...

    I'd probably write that differently now, but the fundamentals would remain unchanged :-)

    Default Ehhh...it wouldn't compile, you know...

    There's no END IF for the IF.

So since it wouldn't compile, it would never run, and now you'll never be able to sleep.
