Hello,

I&#039m looking for an elegant solution to the following problem:

* I have two tables in an Access database (say "User" and "UserInfo").
* They share a Key (say "UserID").
* Every time a new user is created they enter some fields for each table.
* I then want to INSERT the records in the two tables, having Access assign a unique primary key.

Is there any way to assign the same key to both tables automatically?

After inserting the records into "User" I don&#039t know what "UserID" Access has assigned to the new user, so I can&#039t manually set the key for the second insert into "UserInfo".

I could search the "User" table for the known records (say "Name" and "Age") but that does not guarantee that I get a unique hit. (We may have more than one user with the same name and age).

Regards,

Martin Olsson
martin@olsson.com
Uppsala, Sweden
