Default Passing Values to remote CGI's via ASP

Suppose you want to interface with a remote CGI app. This app reveives a textstream from the client and then returns a textstream. Now suppose this app (lets call it foo.cgi) resides on a 3rd party server. The 3rd party has supplied you with a list of the neccessary parameters that foo.cgi needs to run.

How do you:

1. Open a connection to the remote server in ASP?
2. Pass your string to the cgi app?
3. Retreive and store the results of the cgi app in a variable to be parsed later?

Assume annonymous http: port 80 connection.

I can&#039t find any help on this on the MS site. Anyone and everyones input is greatly appreciated. Thx.

mike

I have done it 2 ways:
1. using a component from serverobjects.com (i think asphttp) which will either post to, or do a GET from whatever URL.

2. Set my CGI to accept a form submission, parse that data from there. This will only work if you don&#039t need to retrieve data from the cgi.

if you need to retrieve data (output) from the CGI use method 1.
