I have some ASP database queries (SQL against an Access 2k database) that I would like to speed up. I rarely see any information on use of indexes and their effect on performance. I thought I would try it for the heck of it so I set a field as an index and then used the "mysillyRS.Index=" to set the index before opening the recordset. This seems to have no effect. In fact, even when I set the index to a field that does not even exist (i.e. mysillyRS.Index="anonexistentfield"), the script works the same and I don't get an error message. What am I missing?
