Can I open a connection with sqlserver in the global.asa file instead of opening it in all the asp pages in the application?

Well, you *could* BUT it would have to be at either Application or Session scope. ADO Objects are NOT thread-safe for use in Application or Session scope and doing this will certainly cause major scalability problems, if not actually kill your server.<BR><BR>Put the connection string in an Application variable and then open a connection as late as possible, close it and destroy it as soon as possible.<BR><BR>Dunc
