    If I am opening a connection only to insert a record, how do I open the recordset?<BR>I believe that I must have a sql statment to open a recordset, but it seems like a waste of time and memory to return a set when I do not need it.<BR><BR>Thanks.

    You are correct, you don&#039t need to open a recordset unless you are wanting data returned. You should use a SQL INSERT statement. however, most SQL statements going through ODBC can only be 256 &#060; chars...
