Getting a "Permission denied: &#039MsgBox&#039" message when I attempt to call the MsgBox function. Why would this happen?

    You are probably trying to do this from ASP (server-side scripting). You can&#039t display anything on the client&#039s side using server-side scripting. ALL ASP is parsed COMPLETELY BEFORE the user gets the HTML. You can, however, use client-side scripting:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=VBScript>
MsgBox("Hello!")
</SCRIPT>

Of course this won&#039t work in Netscape, since Netscape doesn&#039t support VBScript. You can use JavaScript&#039s alert or confirm methods to do similar things that work in both browsers.

Happy Programming!
