    Default Netscape & ASP?

I am fairly new to asp. I wrote a viewers poll script that asks a question then shows the results after you vote. It works great on IE, but Netscape doesn&#039t even try to run the script. Is Netscape compatible with asp? What am I missing here?

ASP is server-side, the client has little if anything to do with it.<BR><BR>Check the view page source in Netscape, see if it&#039s writing any of your code. IE is more tolerant of bad HTML and sometimes ASP can screw up your HTML.

Thanks for the quick response! I checked the view source in netscape, it doesn&#039t show any of the asp code. So does that mean its a coding problem?

Maybe if you posted some code?? Otherwise, if ASP is not writing the code, it shouldn&#039t &#039discriminate&#039 as to which browser it does or does not. (one question, is there any security/authentication component to your project)

No security/authentication component. When I view the source code in IE, it doesn&#039t show the asp code either, but it works. Could I send you the code in a text file if you would take a look at it for me? Or I could post it here.

    Sorry, what I meant was: does the ASP write the HTML you want. Example: I would expect this code:<BR>&#060;form&#062;<BR>&#060;%<BR>For i = 1 to 10<BR> response.write "&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039" & i & "&#039&#062;"<BR>Next<BR>%&#062;<BR>&#060;/form&#062;<BR><BR>To produce this:<BR><BR>&#060;form&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 1&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 2&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 3&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 4&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 5&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 6&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 7&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 8&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 9&#039&#062;&#060;input type=&#039text&#039 size=&#039 10&#039 name=&#039 10&#039&#062;&#060;/form&#062;<BR><BR>And that&#039s what I see in the browser. <BR><BR>Anyway just post your code here, if you like.

what did you net read any specs? or anything about it?<BR>its all server side in other words netscape looks at it after the ASP is turned into HTML the server takes all asp code out of the page after the info it needs runs and transfers all varibles to html if needed and then sends the page 2.0 browsers can read it
