What do you mean.. on the client side?? You could create a hidden frame and have a script running there while the visible frame contained content... is this what you mean?

Nice idea for the client side :o)

I&#039m looking for something on the server side.

Basically what I want is at a given time site maintenance begins, sparked by a client browsing by or something, but I don&#039t want to have that client wait or have the script time out.

Thanks

Default WSH is your answer (I think)

I think you probably would best go with the Window&#039s Scripting Host. It allows you to run VBScript or JScript on the server itself to do the same (and more) that ASP pages allow you to do.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/default.htm?/scripting/windowshost/docs/reference/default.htm

OR this 4guys Article explains all:

http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/072699-1.shtml

Enjoy!
