Default Checking Strings for silly characters

Hi , I need to check one input field in an ASP page for abnormal characters such as !"#$%&/()=ÖÐÆÞ&#039^~[]{}@?
Does anyone have a solution to this in ASP or would it be better to use Client side JavaScript , and if so an example would be great.
Thanks a lot
ActiveALLI
OZ.COM

Look at the top right of this page where it has a link named asp. Click on that. Scroll down to July, 1999 and then look at the next line that is titled:
07-31-99 Checking A String For Certain Characters
and click on that.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
