    Default sql syntax

    I need to create tables called &#039da32r.34jk&#039 or &#039.324jfk3&#039<BR><BR>The statement: CREATE TABLE [ta.blename] (columnName TEXT(50))<BR><BR>causes an SQLExeption.<BR>The problem being the period (&#039.&#039) in the table name.<BR>The escape character doesn&#039t work either.<BR>Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this statement doesn&#039t work.<BR>My understanding was that the square brackets removed the significance of the special characters.<BR><BR>I&#039m running a java applet on a java webserver connecting to a MS Access database using an easysoft jdbc-odbc bridge.<BR> <BR>Any help would be very much appreciated.<BR><BR>thanks!<BR><BR>greg

    Staight from MS Access online help:<BR><BR>"Guidelines for naming fields, controls, and objects<BR><BR>Can include any combination of letters, numbers, spaces, and special characters except a period (.), an exclamation point (!), an accent grave (`), and brackets ([ ])."<BR><BR><BR>
