Default Disabled text box

    Is it possible to prevent the user enter the value into the text box? If so, will it work both in Netscape and IE?
Thanks in advance
sure there is...I&#039m sure that there is another way, but the way that I find it to work the best is:
----------------
<form name="form1">

<input type="text" name="text1" onFocus="document.form1.text1.blur();">
----------------

This basically means (in case you don&#039t know javascript) that as soon as focus is brought to the text field...it will take the focus away...thus "disabling" the text field...this works the same way in a <textarea> tag.

hope it helps
joel
jdm.4mg.com
