    Default CDONTS or CDO???

    I have posted numerous questions on this issue and really havnt gotten a straight answer. could someone please tell me if i am correct in what i have pieced together in my hours of perusing newsgroups trying to figure this out. <BR><BR>IIS SMTP can not run on the same box as Exchange?<BR><BR>CDONTS will not work with Exchange SMTP?<BR><BR>I need to use CDO to work with Exchange?<BR><BR>If anyone knows, please tell me if the above are correct, all i need to do is generate emails from my webpage, nothing sophisticated involving accessing directories or anything like that<BR><BR>thanks <BR><BR>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<BR> <BR>

    CDONTS and CDO are the same thing (as far as I know) and will work with either a SMTP mailserver or Exchange, as long as it&#039s on the same box as IIS.<BR><BR>I don&#039t know whether you can run SMTP and Exchange side-by-side, but either will do the job.<BR><BR>Dunc

    ok, thanks, that means that I dont have to learn CDO which appears a lot more compicated then the CDONTS, My Exchange must not be configured properly to support the CDONTS or else my web application is not configured correctly to communicate with exchange...<BR>thanks
