Default ASP/ADO Table - I.E. v. Netscape

    This probably has been asked and answered many times, but this is the first time I have run into it. What do I have to do to make the following code give me more than the last record in Netscape? I works beautifully in I.E. I&#039ve tried using the VI6 grid, but that just does not look the way I want it
to.

I want to print 3 fields from a record one after the other in a column and then start the next record rather than using a table with one record per line and the fields printing horizontally.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Lynn

The code is:

<%
while not rsOLRes.EOF
%>
<table border="1" cellspacing="1" width="90%">
<tr>
<td width="85%" align="center" bgcolor="#008080"><font face="Arial"
color="#FFFFFF">
<str ong><%= rsOLRes("OlrSource")%></strong></font></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td width="85%"><font face="Arial" size="2"><strong><%=
rsOLRe s("OlrDescription")%></strong></font></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td width="85%" align="center"><font face="Arial"
size="1">
<strong&#06 2;<a HREF="<%= rsOLRes("OlrURL") %>"><%=
rsOLRes("OlrURL") %></a></strong></font>

</td>
</tr>
<%
rsOLRes.MoveNext
wend
%>

Bad IE for rendering this! This is what you should have:

<%
while not rsOLRes.EOF
%>
<table border="1" cellspacing="1" width="90%">
<tr>
<td width="85%" align="center" bgcolor="#008080"><font face="Arial"
color="#FFFFFF">
<str ong><%= rsOLRes("OlrSource")%></strong></font></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td width="85%"><font face="Arial" size="2"><strong><%=
rsOLRe s("OlrDescription")%></strong></font></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td width="85%" align="center"><font face="Arial"
size="1">
<strong&#06 2;<a HREF="<%= rsOLRes("OlrURL") %>"><%=
rsOLRes("OlrURL") %></a></strong></font>

</td>
</tr>
</TABLE>

<%
rsOLRes.MoveNext
wend
%>

I am assuming that you want a table to be built for every run through the loop. In Netscape, yo have to have a closing TABLE tag. I&#039m surprised that you even got anything without the closing table tag.

Mark Chance

    Thanks, Mark. You are absolutely right, of course.

I had an end table tag - just in the wrong place, after the wend clause (and inadvertently omitted from the pasted code), when it should have been before.

The results will soon be posted to a website hosted via ORCS web.
;-)

Thanks.
lhz
