Default establishing db connection

    Hi, my ADO book is confusing me a bit..

strConn = strConn & "Data Source=Myserver; "

(part of my connection string)

Does the "Data Source = " part describe the DSN of my database? Or does this set the value for something else. thanks

    If you have a registered dsn, you don&#039t need the data source= clause. However, the trend is toward using connection strings without a dsn. Here&#039s an example...

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 ;Data Source=E:msdbsiblio.mdb;Persist Security Info=False

For Oracle and SQL Server, it&#039s the name of the server and for Access, it&#039s the name of the database.
