Default Redirecting user to .htm page (authentication)

I am writing an application that contains a default asp page. When the user logs on to the default page he must enter a logon name and password. If correct he may access the default page which has links to .htm pages containing sensitive corporate information. I know in Active Server Pages you can redirect the user to the default login page by using response.redirect. Do you know how you can redirect the user from logging into an HTM page? The above method does not work. Also I don&#039t want to redirect the user back to the default page every time they access the .htm page throughout their session, only the first time the session starts up. I know .htm pages only understand client side scripting (i.e. Java Script)so is there any possible way I can pass the session variable from the global.asa to the .htm page? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sue sswanger@gt-systems.com

Sounds like you want to use Session variables to authenticate your users. There is a great article at 4Guys that discusses how to do this:<BR><BR>Simple Authentication<BR>http://4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/050499-1.shtml<BR><BR>If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
