Hi, everybody! I needed a function to retrieve the path of the current page in question. Basically I needed it for portability. Example: You&#039re working on a site that switches between secure(https) and non-secure pages. You&#039d like to be able to just drop your asp files into your website when you are done developing them. The problem is, relative paths don&#039t work with https, you have to enter the full string to get to the page(i.e. https://www.myecommercestore.com/private.asp)

Obviously, this isn&#039t going to work in your development directory, or if it does, it won&#039t work when you deploy the pages. The solution? Get the path of the directory you are in.

Here is the function:

Function GetPath
Dim FullPath, position
FullPath = Request.ServerVariables("URL")
position = InStrRev(FullPath, "/")
GetPath = Left(FullPath, position)
End Function

Then, if you need to redirect to a secure page, you can use "https://" & GetPath & "pageiamredirectingto.asp"

Comments Welcome. Enjoy!
