Default status bar?

    How do I use Response.Status to place a message in the status bar when a viewer loads my asp? I&#039ve seen pages with these annoying ads in the status bar - I just don&#039t know how to produce one.

    For info on Response.Status:
http://www.idea.co.kr/3Tech/5ActiveX/ASPDocs/src/introbj_20.htm

Try putting the following in your code ... (it&#039s JavaScript in combination with ASP, yes). It will put the current date and time in the status bar ...

<SCRIPT Language="Javascript">
<!--
self.status = &#039<%=now%>'
-->
</SCRIPT>

Status bar text is controlled through JavaScript -- Response.Status is a header command that has to do with setting errors, etc in the browser itself.

Try this:
<Body Onload="window.status=&#039Welcome to my site&#039">

You can call this from any JavaScript event handler, onLoad, onMouseOver, onMouseOut, etc.

Hope this Helps!
